Hi, I'm Piper!
I've been working with resin for almost a decade. But my resin journey actually started first with wildflowers. Specifically, the ones I'd pick almost daily on walks & then sadly watch as they’d be fully wilted by morning. If only there was a way to keep their shape & color almost perfectly intact..
Well, that search led me to silica, which then led to resin, which has opened up a world of possibilities I never could have imagined!
While I do work in a wide variety of styles, my favorite & the core of what I do now is what I call ‘Naturescapes’: floral preservation pieces that include either butterflies, hummingbirds, dragonflies, etc. (made of thick archival quality cardstock paper) so that the final result looks like a snapshot of a small moment in nature, preserved forever in a 3 dimensional keepsake.
In addition, I mount them to wooden bases in which I've drilled a hole & added an led chip, making each piece also function as a decorative lamp.
What Led Me Here
Over the years, I started spending time in a number of resin-oriented Facebook groups, answering questions, sharing tips & walking people through their sticky situations. In that, I realized something: this was where my heart truly lit up! The messages & comments that started with "Thank you so much, you saved my project!" became my favorite things to receive.
I also noticed something else. So many artists weren't willing to share their processes. They'd guard their techniques like government secrets, leaving beginners frustrated & alone with their failed pours.
I decided right then: I never want to be that person.
So here I am, almost a decade into my resin journey, I'm channeling all my experience into something I love almost as much as creating things myself: helping you create pieces that you can be excited about!
